Frequently asked questions
How are leap years handled?
We count February 29 in leap years, so total days are exact instead of assuming 365 days per year.
Why might my age differ by one day?
The result can vary with time zone and birth time. The calculator uses the calendar date without the time of day.
Can I calculate age at a future date?
Yes. Choose a future target date to see your age at that point.
How is the next birthday calculated for someone born on February 29?
In non-leap years we use February 28 as the alternate date, a common convention.
